A biography of D.P. Thomson
Scotland’s Evangelist is the first full-scale biography of one of the great characters of the 20th century, now remembered chiefly for his St Ninian’s Centre, Crieff and his leadership of Seaside Missions. It is based on detailed study of his personal diaries and other contemporary archives. Revd Dr Frank Bardgett has served the Church of Scotland in Sutherland and Orkney, and as secretary-depute for the Board of National Mission. He has written extensively on Scottish Church history.
“D.P. Thomson was a giant of the 20th century Scottish Church and rightly called Scotland’s evangelist. This detailed account of his life takes the reader on many journeys, and into debates on mission and evangelism which continue today. Frank Bardgett has made a unique contribution to the biographical treasury of the Church in Scotland.” Peter Neilson
“One of the most loved men in Scotland.” Prof. T.F. Torrance
